Installation
Installing the Surface Mount Switch Kit is a breeze. Just install the receiver unit (controls the lights using an internal relay) in accordance with your wiring setup – check the resources tab – then place the Surface Mount Switch anywhere within range inside your home. Pull the battery tab isolator to start using the wireless switch.

If you opt to use the receiver as a standalone unit, it should be wired directly to the electrical load, like your lights, and the power source. This setup allows you to control the electrical load using only the wireless switch modules.
Setup
The Surface Mount Switch Kit is user-friendly and easy to set up. It does not require Wi-Fi, and the transmitter and receiver come pre-paired for your convenience. Follow the provided wiring diagram, and you'll have everything ready straight out of the box.
Multi-way Switching

Battery Life

Interference
The risk of interference from other 2.4GHz equipment is minimal with our wireless switching kit. The switch module employs frequency hopping technology to minimise interference, ensuring a reliable signal. The GEM Surface Mount Switch Kit is designed and assembled in New Zealand. The product complies with the relevant AS/NZS standards and is fit for sale in Australia and New Zealand. All GEM products have a 2 year replacement warranty.
The way it works is great, simple and reliable.
However the units are very hard to fit in most boxes behind a switch. Especially it it’s a multi switch, then it’s often impossible.
Received switch and installed with no problems, working well as a two way switch.
Like lots of us, we live in an older home - some parts from the 50's. Wiring was scarce and power points were equally sparse. This little item makes it a snap to run power to where you need it and then switch from wherever you want, without running additional wiring. Works great and simple to install. Great service and communication too.
Used the single gang switch with module for a two way where a cable was impossible to get for the second switch. Absolutely no lag between the press of the button and the light turning on and worked perfectly as a wired two way would. Was skeptical at first but couldn’t have asked for more. Would be perfect if more switches per plate become available soon but absolutely stocked with how what I ordered and how it performed.
This switch saved me a lot of hassle. I'm using it for a pump from a rain water tank to a kitchen tap.
